Falconry Hunt part 3

This is a TV show on PBS that I appeared in.

This is just lots of good information on the laws concerning falconry in the USA.
This was also the only show that I remember on COJ that was dedicated from start to finish, and focused entirely on one hunting sport.
Falconry is about the predator prey relationship, and the balance of life in nature.
The use of wild raptors to hunt wild game.

I have been reading up on falconry, watching the youtube videos and talking to a few people who have altered their lives to do this type of hunting. I believe it is a commentment that is not to be made lightly. Do you have any dvd's that you would recommend to somebody who is considering falconry?

I can't say that I know of a video to buy.

The best stuff is on the web.

I recommend that you read Bebe & Webster, North American Falconry and Hunting Hawks.

Most of all I hope that you are a naturalist first, and understand wild predators and prey. The commitment is first and a balancing act afterwards. That is what we hoped came out of this video is the commitment.

What do you do about your birds when you are away for some reason (vacation, illness, etc.)?

I weigh and pre-package their food in advance, so that my family or anyone else can feed them when I am out of town. With my work I travel often and this is mandatory that others can care for them when I am away.

This show was made as it was, nothing staged.

It was a days hunt no rabbits found.

No baiting the game base location.

We can't control what happens.

One thing not noticed is that, during this video a total of 4 birds were flown.

The first sq. hunt occured so fast it was not caught on the video. After my birds catch prey, I don't keep asking them to do it all again. The second cast of birds also needed to be flown too. Is was not important to the show.

Very Surprised to see that this was shown on PBS. PBS is a very liberal-anti hunting-anti american-anti gun network, and our tax dollars help support it. Shame.
