@daredevil335619 no problem, my reaction was just about mandarin sounding harsher than cantonese in the video... I'm not a native speaker either anyway ;)

@TheFreakshowCircus I studied Mandarin when I was seventeen and it was mostly self taught with a bit of informal help by friends. I never took a class so that explains my accent.
@distortionmaster20 the guy speaking in the video is a native cantonese speaker, thus his mandarin is a bit "over-toned", being like a foreign language.

It seems to me that Mandarin is harsher-sounding than Cantonese, and has that unique "R" sound that other Chinese languages lack.
