The Carl Sandburg High School winter guard at the V.J. Andrew High School competition in Tinley Park, IL on Feb 11, 2007. The guard placed second with a score of 63.1 in the Scholastic AA class.
yall did good. it was really together.. the only thing i saw was that.. my coach would be dead before he'd do work that simple, or ever ever everrr put drop spins in a show. sometimes he over estimates us though.. good and together though. thumbs up.
the flag work did look easy but they probably figured that the easy work looked a lot more together than doing hard work and it looking sloppy. this is such a cute show though. i love the flower at the end :)
@guardnerd I know, but (for example) I made my school's varsity team as a freshman, (My first year in guard) and the instructors threw a lot of hard stuff at me, but I worked hard enough to get it right, and it ended up clean. Any team can do the same. By the time you get them up to the level you want for them to start learning harder stuff, its time for them to graduate. You have to push, and it may look like crap at first. Like I said, if you work hard enough and care then it will be clean.
@starralchemist9090 I agree with you but I'm saying that you can't try to get a guard thats not ready for hard work to wpin hard work together. You have to work with the pace of your guard. Go watch some guards that the directors wrote hard work for and its to hard for the students that they don't look good. I will never put my guard through that. I do challenge them but in a way they can accomplish and be proud of.
@guardnerd Just because you do harder work doesn't mean it cant be clean lol. If you try/practice hard enough you can make the more difficult stuff just as clean as easier work.
So I really enjoyed this show. :) But for everyone who says the work is easy must be in a guard that does to hard of work for their level and they are not clean. Guard is all about the cleaniness of your work not the diffuclty. You need to be able to do the easy stuff together so you can move on to intermediate. This guard had just the right work for them because they work on it and get it clean together and be proud of their show instead of just spinning hard work they can't do together.
