if you go to marshall's or tj max, you can get wool socks for about $5. theyr really cheap. and you can get brand name fleece for $25 or less. there's alot of good stuff in those stores. i was amazed!

You can occasionally find good deals on wool-blend socks in the hunting section in your WalMart. Typically they ask around $9 to $12 for one pair, and $6 to $8 when they have a sale, or it is the end of hunting season and they want to get rid of them.
Also, check your local thrift stores for awesome deals on used wool clothing. I picked up a 100% wool sweater for $4, a black 65% wool long jacket with polyester lining for $15. Have a good one!

Yes.. It's bascally a canvas material.. with a liner. Around here you can get them at eh local farm stores.. I think Walmart also carries some brands.. but I don't prefer to get them from there. HTH

I have been buying and wearing merino-wool shirts, they feel nice and comfortable, however they don't really keep me dry when I am (moderately) active. And the merino doesn't keep the warmth when wet and doesn't dry on your body fast enough! Would you recommend wearing a thin polypropylene layer underneath the merinowool for wicking?

Boom..
You MUST layer in cold weather. My first layer is a wicking layer (either long john's or a light fleece).. next is my warmth layer (fleece or wool).. and then an outer shell (varies depending on the temp. At the last winter camp we just had.. it was 11 degrees with a 40 MPH wind (-15F real feel) and we were relatively comfortable with this setup. BTW.. I had on only one pair of Merino Wool socks.. and my feet were very warm and dry

Dave you covered everything but the boots,do you wear hunting boots or a pack boot?

I have a pair of ankle high Hunting boots.. as well as the low cut "boots" that are in the video. I happen to generally wear moccasins however.. unless on the trail for a long time. In the summer.. I like to wear Mocs or sandals
