I don't own anything.
Metric's cover of Death From Above 1979's "Black History Month" from their Spotify Covers EP.

LYRICS:
Can you remember a time when this city was
A great place for architects and dilettantes
A nice place for midwives and crossing guards
And on, and on...

Hold on, hold on, children
Your mother and father are leaving
Hold on, hold on, children
Your mother and father are leaving, leaving

Do you remember a time when this pool was
A great place for waterwings and cannonballs
A nice place for astrologists and blow up dolls
And on, and on, and on, and on...

Hold on, hold on, children
Your mother and father are leaving
Hold on, hold on, children
Your best friend's parents are leaving, leaving

Hold on, hold on, children
Your mother and father are leaving
Hold on, hold on, children
Your best friend's parents are leaving, leaving

  • Love it!

  • gud job metric

  • Missing the pulse of the original

  • @CMFGAO back in my day we ate rocks

  • @TheEmilieH Then I shall send you on a quest to retrieve them!!!!! hurry hurry! make haste!

  • It makes sense that, given the history both of these bands shared, that there would be a cover, but I never thought they'd do a piano-focused cover. I'd love to hear DFA cover Metric though. That would be wicked. Maybe Monster Hospital or even Hand$hakes.

  • back in my day... this video only had 200 views.

  • Quarter notes do not suffice for a replacement for JFK's sexy as fuck baselines. Lame Cover.

  • this is an awesome cover!

  • the original is still better but i love metric and this is brilliant.
