@Rukus103eryan That's correct! She can't lower that leg at all because there's no knee joint anymore. It's like one long, curved bone now. She can still move the bottom section of that leg a little bit, though, and she uses it to sit, lift off the ground from a sitting position, and she can even scratch with it a little bit. Thank you for your comments! :)

@puppyluv97 One of the earlier descriptions said that the bones fused together in that position, so she wouldn't be able to extend the leg. I'm really happy to see this dog running around though. She looks so happy and has so much energy.

Is she just holding her leg up like that cause it's still healing or is it stuck in that position?

thank you so much, dear family, for adopting her. it is this kind of story that keeps me going.

Just discovered these Fiona clips and was very moved by them.. I'm curious to understand how and why she got from Taiwan to the US. Lovely dog!

@matilda1978 Sorry for the late response. I didn't see this until now! There are many dogs and cats available for adoption in foreign countries. You can find them on the petfinder website. That's where I found Fiona. There was an adoption fee of $150, which I was surprised by how low it was considering she'd have to fly here (so I gave them extra as an extra donation).

@matilda1978 They send the animals to where ever they need to go by finding travelers who are going to those places, but won't be using all of their allowed cargo or carry-on space. So we met up with someone associated with the rescue organization at Los Angeles International Airport and picked her up! There were also some kittens there that were going to their new homes. It was a neat experience :)

@matilda1978 One more thing (sorry for the long response, which begins at the lowest one and goes up, by the way)... Stray animals in some foreign countries (like Taiwan) have a much rougher time than they do here in the U.S. Animals are just not very high on their lists of priorities, often because they have their own hardships to deal with. I know it's very bad in the middle east, too, for example.
