Every couple of years we have to pollard the willow. This year we need to make sure there's room to build our house - it'll go where the old sheds are to the left of the picture. So here's me trying not to fall out of a tree whilst wielding razor sharp garden implements.

Perhaps you should make a pole you can strap onto the tree for a tie in point and rope into?
