On the 13th of December 2008 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria animal rights activists marched through the main street of the city with a few stops along the way, blowing whistles and carrying animal rights posters. Hundreds of leaflet were handed out to passers by promoting the animal cause. We also raised our voices against the barbaric practices in the municipal dog pound in Plovdiv, otherwise called "isolator", where thousands of homeless animals suffer horrific deaths in the hands of their torturers. We hope that public awareness of the animal abuse situation in Bulgaria will eventually bring an end to animal suffering and exploitation.
very sad to see that there is no harsher laws against animal cruelty in bulgaria.

i see how bulgarians look after there pets only a few weeks ago a dog died because he was tied up day and night with little food and no shade from the hot sun and was losing is fur in patches he looked very sore, but when emailed some people they told me that if i complained the owner would tie the dog un and kill it and leave it there to upset me. we all need to teach them how to look after there animals and if they can't they should not have them.
