"Sueño Eterno"/ "Eternal Dream" - Short Film

Short low budget film/project produced while studying Communication at the University of Puerto Rico on 2004. If people knew the headaches and stress it was to shoot this video but the end result was an A and e very fun experience that me and my partners will never forget :) - PS: Those are my real parents in the film !!!

Opening: "With so much ambition, dreams, goals to accomplish but nobody takes for granted the true which is the beauty of being alive. And the most important thing there is which is the day of today !!!
Why is it that everyone walks as if tomorrow will forever exist but just a few only stop to think that perhaps tomorrow will be too late ..." - DR

Sinopsis: Karina is a young college student filled with many dreams. Dreams of being a singer, being famous & marrying her boyfriend Gabriel. A few days before her birthday she begins to notice Gabriel a bit cold & distant which caused her much fear and worries that he no longer wanted to be with her. Meanwhile Gabriel was really planning out the way he was going to propose to her to get engaged so his plan was treating her distant so she wouldn't suspect what he was up to. What he didn't know was that the day he called her to go meet him because he had to speak to her ( this day he was going to propose) Karina was driving desperate & parked by his house without looking ; stepped out of car and Booom unfortunately a car ran over her.
After the incident it seems as if Karina got out of the hospital and accomplished all her goals but at the end there is a twist to the story... All the good life she was living was just a product of her imagination which was all she had left locked inside of her as she laid there in coma for almost 6 years with nothing to do but re-play the story of her life that never happened and never shall see. At the end since she never moved or was able to give doctors signs of brain functioning, the doctor ordered family to accept she was brain dead and the best road was to let her die in peace.

Ending Thought:
"Who doesn't have dreams, who doesn't wish to be successful, have a family and get to grow very old. This is my case , I always believed in dreams, I knew I would be able to accomplish them but instead look at me here laying in a bed just imagining the story of my life, the life that never was and never will be "
