The cutting open of the box was by far the best part. How little effort you used on that last swipe - priceless

Love your maltese!

Is this a dog review, paper in water tutorial or a tascam us1641 review ? xD
-
I used the 1641 daily, from 2008 to Jan 2011. It was a work horse. And a great value for the money. It was always on, I never shut it off. It never failed me. But the driver would sometimes, get buggy. I also wish the preamp pots, were metal, instead of plastic.
I only sold it, so I could upgrade to the us2000. Which I expect to be a solid work horse as well. Tascam has always made rock solid products for musicians. Thinking all the way back to my first 4 track tape porta studio as a kid.

@ProDrumReviews thanks!
-
@TheStudentCoder Yes it does quite well actually. Works really well with Logic Pro, and GarageBand or other recording software.
-
@kharlos84 never tried it on 64 bit, maybe you can find 64 bit drivers on the Tascam website.

hey dude, I have a question. Does the unit itself make noise when you turn it on? I bought it, and when I turn it on a noise comes out of the unit . Is like a Hum or hiss.
you answer will be appreciated bro. I have anything connected. No cables, no intruments. Juts the a/c cable and the usb. I have tried in diferent places with same result, so I want to know if is normal or my unit is fucked up man :(

@kharlos84 only for the first few seconds it hisses through the audio out while it powers up but thats all, if you're talking about the actual hardware making hissing noises then i think your unit is faulty as mine is completely silent.

It sucks that you have to use the Asio drivers.......this makes the tascam us 1641 a slave to the steinberg licence...
Unlike all my other interfaces (like the RME hammerfall and alesis Adat PCR) The Tascam drivers will not work as a multi in on Cool Edit ans Audition because only the first 2 inputs and 2 outputs (headphone out) get recognised....
back to the store it goes
slammah2012 1 year ago
@slammah2012 ASIO drivers are commonly found in many audio programs eg. sonar, Cubase, FL studio, Logic, etc all support ASIO, so its not really limited to Cubase in the same way DigiDesign limit their interfaces to Protools. Its a shame you decided to return it as it is a very good interface for the price.
