@Whitesekurity13 Yea, my best guess is that he didn't have enough time to correctly tune his other bass drum.

@ProfessorBastard no i get that, i mean he has two bass drums, but instead of two single pedals, he is using a double. Nothing is hitting the left bass drum.

@Whitesekurity13 Yes. For one reason: When playing double base at high speeds (180 bpm and higher) if you're using a double pedal it chokes the drum head causing a funk sound which can only be fixed by the use of triggers or some intense fucking around in the studio.. So, that's why you'll see most metal drummers use two base drums, aside from looking bad ass, it allows the drums to breathe (resonate in between strokes) and give a better sounding double bass.

the only thing i dont understand is why some drummers have two bass drums when they are using a double pedal anyways. Is the image of having two separate bass drums really THAT important to metal?

.. are you really sure that professional drummer cannot play hard and fast? This isnt even a topic here to discuss. The world is full of show off drummers... filling every second with billions of kicks. but still the best drumming is technically clean and understandable.
