Here's the thing though, Guild Wars 2 is NOT Asian-based. It's created by ArenaNet (which is under NCSoft) here in Seattle, Washington and if you look at the gameplay, listen to voices of the characters, the NPCs, et cetera, nothing is Asian-based at all.
-
If you look around major gaming sites, you'll notice that most of their titles don't even get released over here, simply because of the fact that player base from states and Europe prefer different things over those that are being put on the table by companys as NCsoft and other mainly Asian-based game developers.
I think that is the major reason why L2 Aion GW2 possibly and every other game released from them never really got enough of a kick to be worthwhile.

Well i hope they will be prepared for players with GW2 better than they were with Aion.
Nevertheless, with all the last games NCsoft have released,i have no belief in Guild Wars 2 whatsoever, never really liked Asian games, and none of them has ever been made even for entry level UE/US population, sure you'll find some geeky yank or European who fancy's manga so much that he'd be ready to do plastic surgery, but that is a rare case, most of us hate Asian themes, and farming.

@Bastacat: (Continuing) [but still] I have many friends that play WoW that are transferring over to SWTOR as their big MMO as the majority of my friends are coming with me to Guild Wars 2. NC Soft might have fucked up with Aion, but Guild Wars 2 is different in many many aspects.
-
@Bastacat: That is true, but Guild Wars 2 is doing something revolutionary with MMOs by adding Dynamic Events, there's no Holy Trinity (Tank, DPS, Healer), and no kill stealing/no ninja looting. Also, hundreds of people have played Guild Wars 2 hands-on and talk about there experiences over the web telling everyone that it's for sure not a let down, and they are giving what they promise. About SWTOR, I don't really like it that much since I'm personally into Fantasy more than Sci-Fi but stil

Yes that's true, then again, all we can do is,wait and see, people said Aion will kill it,it did not, same was told about many games and they did not, sure the god damn thing will perish sooner or later, but that was not what i was responding to,the response was about Aion, not other games, and as far as it goes,NCsoft fucked up as bad as no game dev has in decades.

@Bastacat: Despite Aion, Blizzard is losing tons of players to Rift, SWTOR (when it releases), and Guild Wars 2 (again, when it releases).

1 year old post, and even then,it was not true.
2 facts.
Blizzard got more than 16.000.000 active subscribers, and the number was growing up till cataclysm.
Aion got more players on private servers than retail.
I love how Blizzard is losing soo many players to Aion! :D

whats your point? So it should be based on gear and time spent? I don't think so. So when I go into pvp i should get my ass kicked regardless of how good I am just cause the 11 year old im fighting has mad epics? That's lame. Id rather spend time pvping that farming gear.
