We found 1 in FL. a few months ago, it had fell and landed on a branch and impaled it's self. I'd guess it lived a day or so, and tried everything it could to get off, but the branches broke when it fell acted like barbs. The wood entered near it's butt and came out at the shoulders. The nearest tree was around 30M tall, so it fell quite a way. There was blood and feces all over . I believe the corpse was around a week old. Pretty gruesome way to die.
