As part of the Canadian Rotary clubs' celebrations of their centenary, they have accepted a challenge to raise $300,000 to help build a school in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. Funds raised will be matched by the Canadian government, and will provide an education facility for more than 4,000 students. Females will make up around 80% of the students, a figure quite in contrast to the norm. Rotary District 7090 has instigated this particular appeal, as part of their commitment to the overall project. Please visit www.rotary7090afghanistan.ca for further details and to donate.
