I feel like we are being backed into a corner. We can't vote our way out of the mess. The voters are to stupid or just don't give a damn about what the Government is doing to our Country. Everybody want a piece of the pie before we go broke; well that's only exacerbating the problem. Politicians are buying votes with entitlement programs and screwing our children. It's funny when they say that we should protect the environment for the next generation. It's just another way screw and control us.

I feel the same way. It's bad enough that the politicians do not give a damn about the people they represent, but when people start to believe their lies; I get really pissed off. They say that we should have Universal Health Care, but what they don't understand is that in 30 yrs more than 100% of the Federal budget will be needed to pay for what we already have in entitlement programs. The Democrats are socialist and the Republicans are the new Democrats. God help us if we don't wake up soon.

I read the same thing. These envirnomentalists can never predict what the hell will happen. I do not understand why people care about a piece of forzen forest thousands of miles away that they will never see, while their savings are being wipped out. Drilling there will not solve our problems, but we are stupid not to.

I agree there is no shortage of oil and from what I can understand alot of the price inflation is due to futures and opec (i could be wrong im not looking for a fight just looking for info.) If we could eliminate opec (by being self sufficient) and refine the brokering process wouldnt that be a real solution? The Bush stuff I dont understand, in my opinion, people are pissed off about the gas prices not afraid of running out.

we have the resourse we should use it. America was and is so prosperous because of its natural resouses (and people) from the fertile farm land to coal mines etc.. I guess im missing something. why are the dems opposing this. the Alaskan Pipeline is a truely great example of oil drilling and nature working together in fact aahhhhhhh why am I wasing my time

We invadaed a country full of oil and spend billions securing it, there is NO oil shortage. The refineries are working at 100% capacity because they were not smart enough to build enough refineries to keep up with current demand? I hope you don't buy that? Gas like all comodities are high because yes there is more demand but also because of the mortgage crisis. Bush is playing on fears so big oil can take advantage of our reserves. It won't benefit u at pump only US oil & they have stole plenty!

Supposedly, no wildlife would be in danger if this ANWR oil exploration proposal goes into effect.
I have a hard time believing no wildlife would be harmed. My family feels we should not be drilling for oil in Alaska.

This is petty sad.
when the alaskan pipe line went through the whole crowd of environmentalists belived that it would severly diminish the carabou population. infact it had the exact opposite effect. Carabou actually increased in numbers because the pipeline supplied a source of warmth and also since it was so warm more food grew for the carabou to eat.

With gasoline topping $4 a gallon, President Bush urged Congress on Wednesday to lift its long-standing ban on offshore oil and gas drilling, saying the United States needs to increase its energy production. Democrats quickly rejected the idea. "Let's continue to fund those people who hate us." This is simply "terrorism" at the gas pump folks!! We need to drill in our own soil. This would keep our money within our own borders as well as lower the price at the pump. Damn those democrats!!!
