One of the most important Phoenician city in the history, Tyr have always been defended by its citizen, from the Greek, Roman, Byzantine, to the Crusads, and to the Israeli occupation. Until now, it's a free city, and one of the most visited by tourist city in Lebanon. Today, it have been really developped. It's history is also very fascinating, such the Phoenician vestiges, Byzantine churchs, Crusads relics and the greatest and most restored Roman Hypodrome (Racecourse). Tyr vestiges are members of the UNESCO.

These are old and new photos from the city of Tyr, vestiges, streets, people, israeli occupation photos, Phoenician boats and arts.
