Morning Thunderstorm Over East Las Vegas June 25,2009

Thunderstorms quickly erupted over the Las Vegas Valley on the morning of Thursday June 25,2009.
I happened to be up around 6 AM and watched the clouds develop eventually, I heard a rumble of thunder,so I decided to film what I could. I got a few sprinkles out of the whole deal.I was able to capture a few lightning strikes and some awesome footage of the towering updrafts of the storm.

Yea I was watching these storms develop this morning and when I heard that first rumble of thunder, I knew I had to capture what I could.But this is only the beginning,the Monsoon hasn't even started yet,it'll be here in a week or so.

Very beautiful growing thunderheads! I love the angle of the sunlight, makes for a great view of the cloud tops. Wonderful capture :)

I'd say the cloud tops had to be between 20-30,000 feet. Nice though, we had a few morning thunderstorms here in Portland this last summer, pretty wicked knowing we rarely get them. (Jr. Meteorologist)

Nice. We got 1 one little downpour this morning. Ive been hearing small rumbles of thunder for a few hours. Hopefully we will get widespread thunderstorms instead of isolated or scattered.
