@vrietmet I doubt it, he is an sports analyst for Sport1, the least I can say is that he is gifted at analyzing the game too. Bergkamp was smart, but Van Basten is smart too. Who is the smartest, who knows.
As a player, Bergkamp was World Class, but Van Basten was even better. Too bad he stopped at 28, with already years of injury. If he wasn't injured, he'd be the best player ever (even Maradona agreed on that).

@Amidat Good observation, I was just talking about this w/some mates of mine the other day.

@premiumtap - yeah Bergkamp could have gotten the CL if he stayed til 95 at Ajax... or if he would have gone to Barcelonal where Cruyff was managing.... but oh well. Both were great players.... but as an all around footballer - I don't see how Dennis couldn't be the pick.
-
@Braii - actually at Ajax and for the national side - Bergkamp did play as a pure striker... as he got older he became more of a playmaker
-
@TheLegendfamily - they would have made a great partnership.... both could score beautiful goals...

DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMP DENNIS BERGKAMPXD!
i'm american and played 'soccer' in h.s. (20+ yrs. ago), making me a passing fan of the game, so clearly i don't have the frame of reference that you TRUE football-philes have, but that goal at 1:04 is one of the SICKEST things i have ever seen...in any sport.
