The film is so well liked because it portrays real life in such a fantastic way. Every town has families that don't have a 'pot to piss in' and all families have problems.
Things like this happen in real life. Is it nice, no..is it fact, yes!
Maybe not as extreme as mthe Heke family but I wonder just how many families can relate to this film....probably more than you can imagine!
