Frontal Impact takes place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable barrier. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 29km/h into a rigid pole.

  • Before you criticize FIAT, look at the SAAB 900, VW Passat in 1998 and not on how much better when comparing the price of cars!

  • @KONYturbo Wrong. The Passat was already updated for MY1998, the SAAB 900 was already changed by the 9-3 by that time, and plus, you're comparing a compact car (Brava) against two mid-sized cars. Which makes matters worse, you're comparing a 1995 car left unchanged, against a completely redesigned car (Passat) and a heavily facelifted car (900/9-3). The only car this Brava should be compared to was the last-gen Ford Escort.

  • modern fiats are know for performing well in crash test. the above result isn't a bad result. windshield broke, but dashboard didn't move toward driver. and we must remember that this test was performed in 1998 with a car created a few years before. most cars available worldwide at that time wouldn't perform much better than this one. 10 years is way too much time when refering to car technology. altought I don't really like fiat cars that much, I'm sure most of their cars are not crap either.

  • @kkohouta Yes but Brava was from '95 not '98 and crash test is from '98 so you must compare it to Golf Mk3.

No changes in '98 for Brava as i know.

  • @AdrianoCROST -98 VW Golf,is MK.4 And way much safer than this Fiat. But this Brava is lightyear better than Tipo.

  • the 1995-2001 Fiat Bravo/ Fiat Bravissimo (Japan) was assembled in

Cassino – Piedimonte S. Germano, Italy

    Bursa, Turkey

  • Lol the 3 series from BMW, the C-Class Mercedes, Passat, 406, etc all did terrible those times... its hard to believe the facelifts of all these cars have improved exponentially in safety-wise...

  • @PecaBravo 2 stars

"The Brava was awarded two stars for frontal- and side-impact protection but, with only a small improvement, it would have been awarded a third star. The car's structure became overloaded in the frontal impact and there were significant intrusion problems. However, even without a side airbag, the car meets side-impact legislation to take effect across Europe for new models from October. Finally, the bonnet's leading edge provided better than average pedestrian protection."

  • @MrTR500 Nope it's was good in '98. Look at the VW Golf for example.

  • So. Freaking. Ugly
