  • Alouette owns by Rupp.

Very Cool snowmobile!! How fast can this snowmobile go??

I have some Rupp Snowmobile and they are faaaaaaaasssst!

  • It did go fast - before the electrical system went and then it ran on one piston. I could go 50MPH no problem but it did not track very well. There was more throttle left but I never like to go WOT on a 35 year old machine.

Sold this last month and got a 89 JAG, more reliable. both 340s and the Alouette WAS faster.

  • I own the very same sled. Bought 4 years ago for $100. Still runs good and is fast.

  • yes. super fast, they were an amateur racing sled when they came out. $100? wow that's a steal.

  • Nice seld !, my cousin had a super brute 440 and it was fast for a 1974, was rushing out to follow him with my arctic-cat panthera 500 f/a !

  • @tomriddolls

One of my friend have 1974 Super Brute 295 and topped out at 60.

Also have 440 went around 74 top speed.

  • Actually 1974 was the last year of full Alouette production. Rupp came in when Alouette finished out the 74 year of production. 1975 Rupp produced the sleds and retained the Alouette looks and design... and in 76 they were Rupp machines with Alouette labes on them. Too bad they stopped production of these sleds.. were some great machines and ahead of the boat in design.

  • Sounds really mean, I know nothing about this marque but I am intrigued!

  • Yep 2 stroke have no valves and 2 stroke spins lot faster than 4 stroke. 2 stroke spins up 15,000 RPM Max. 4 stroke 7 - 10,000 RPM.
