holding a train on a up grade out of hodge yard on 12/28/07. i was so excited i mis-spoke about the train, it should;ve been the tolar turn waiting to leave.... these are the newest engines on the FWWR. 3 sd40-2's and 2 gp50's. i chose to record the sounds from the sd40-2's at mid power, what a sound!
do you mean the prime movers are stopping the train from rolling backwards?? why not just use the air brakes?? thanks

I like how FWWR names their power...Like "Butch Cassidy", "General Worth", etc.

I had the chance to see these when I was in Fort Worth back in October.. They really do stand out with the bright colors! I like them... Way to cool..

The newest locos are now the gensets. Search for "Derailment on the Fort Worth & Western" to see a video of a derailment of these locos.

SHARP paint scheme, and I love the sound of the EMD 645. Luckily I still get some of them coming through Marietta where I live, CSX still has a number of them in freight service.
