This video shows several CNC thread milling operations using a Tormach PCNC 1100. Thread milling is demonstrated in both steel and aluminum using a 60 degree single form V cutter.

  • Nice work.... Does this machine also do female pipe threads? ie:1/4-18 pipe thread? I currently have a job and building a manifold out of 316 stainless 7/8" sq. bar stock... Were looking for a shop that can do it... This manifold will be used in an oven and cycle heat/cold to test parts..

    Yes, of course. The procedure is nearly identical, expect the cutter goes around the ID. The only constraint is the the cutter diameter needs to be smaller than the hole diameter

  • Great video, I've been wondering if a standard double angle 60 degree cutter would work for thread milling. Thanks!
