Vanguard Classics releases Volume II in its cycle of Michael Hersch's complete works for solo strings. After the much acclaimed release of Hersch's Sonatas Nos. 1 & 2 for Unaccompanied Cello, Vanguard follows with Mr. Hersch's complete works for violin with violinist Miranda Cuckson performing major works the Fourteen Pieces after texts of Primo Levi and the wreckage of flowers after texts of Czeslaw Milosz, among others. The CD artwork is from the ink on paper series Excrescentia by Nicholas Cairns.
