From Jeff Buckley unfinished work, Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk is so good, and, at the same time, so hard to listen to. Jeff Buckley had planned to go into the studio to record his sophomore album, My Sweetheart the Drunk, in June of 1997. He died in May.

Fall in light, fall in light. Fall in light, fall in light
Feel no shame for what you are
As you now are in your blood
Fall in light

Feel no shame for what you are
Feel no shame for what you are
Feel it as a water fall
Fall in light, ooh
Fall in light, fall in light, fall in light,
Fall in light, fall in light, fall in light
Grow in light

Stand absolved behind your electric chair, dancing
Stand absolved behind your electric chair, dancing
Past the sound within the sound
Past the voice within the voice

Leave your office
Run past your funeral
Leave your home, car
Leave your pulpit
Join us in the streets where we
Join us in the streets where we
Don't belong, don't belong
You and the stars
Throwing light

Fall, fall
Fall in light, fall in light. fall in light
Fall in light, fall in light fall in light
Grow in light

  • The Buckley's story is so tragic... first dad Tim in 1975, Then Jeff himself in '97. Both left way too young; at least Tim left us several albums- Jeff barely had time to even make a mark, yet he did with just one record.

  • @lordsardonicvids Well he left just one record, but he also left a lot, and I mean a lot of demos, that give us at least 8 or 9 cd's of his own. It took me ages to collect them.

I wonder why he went to swim in that river, by night, without even took out his boots?

  • His mother had the 'sweetheart songs" completed!

  • @TheJameyb I guess they were sold to Sony.

  • Jeff has the no peer, no equal. Every time I listen to his songs, no matter how often I have heard them before, the man connects with me like no other artist!

  • @ecald12

It's true. He was so gifted in his songs and with otherartist songs (that he gave thar personal touch) with his guitar.

I think I listen to him everyday, I collect many of his demo songs and versions.

    He inspires me

  • who cares about the video as long as you can hear Buckley's music...

  • This is Brad Pitt's favorite song.

  • Jeff left his mark not only with his music- not just his one completed album, but his unfinished work and his live performances - but also by the type of compassionate, caring person he was, by the way he affected so many people whom he met and who observed him at his performances.

  • true artist

  • @jay33jay yeah, and probably they'll come out after the release of his movie... good marketing

  • @jay33jay

from what i understand of him from listening to his music, swimming fully clothed in the river at night was exactly the sort of thing jeff buckley would do.

  • Can't understand why Sketches has received a lukewarm press, comparing it unfavorably to Grace. True, Jeff never finished these songs, and one can argue the 2nd disc shouldn't have been included. But, what we have is quite impressive!

  • @msmichelinariggy It was the Memphis River that he drowned in...
