@Cabincrewifly I think I'll try the train next time. My last train ride was in 1994, and it consisted of old, old carriages, yellow-orange sets full of tea stains, peeling wood panels and very slow forward movement... :-)

@julianreischl Its awful for the local economy and its all because the government cut the PSO route subsidies. I prefer the trains any day there all brand new and probably the most comfortable in Europe!

@Cabincrewifly No, it was May '10, but I just found out that they cancelled this connection, therefore I put the video online. Nostalgic reasons... Personally, I think that's a shame because I really liked being able to fly to Sligo quickly when arriving in Dublin from Munich. Now it's the old hassle all over again with the bus to Conolly, then the train trough the country... or the bus... But at least the trains are new and comfortable now - I hope!

Nice to see from the inside. This must have been one of the last Aer Arann flights to Sligo?
Hi
It seams I got it wrong twice lol
Lufthansa are starting a service from Knock (EIKN) to Dusseldorf (with some connections to other Germany cities) in May next year, check out the Knock Airport web site it might be a better route for you.
You may already know this, but hope it helps.
Enjoy the west.

Hwy don't you fly to Knock its just down the road?

@mocatx I come from Munich (MUC), and there is no direct Knock (NOC) connection. I could go to Knock via London, but the prices seem quite high. From Dublin (DUB), I can't seem to find any direct flight to Knock.
