I personally strongly dislike Fox News, but there are some fascinating issues are brought up in these debates. Do Michael Jackson's bizarre personal choices negate the level of his impact as a racial icon? What role does the media play in this? Join the debate; post your comments and share your opinions on this issue.

I think people should think less about race and sex barriers. We all have potencial and we are all important no matter if we are black or white, men or woman, etc. We have to overcome the prejudice and see that we are all the same and we all come from the same Source despite the race, sex and physical appearance .If we only knew who we are we wouldn´t give importance to such matters.

I don´t think Michael had the intention of becoming a icon or role model for black people. He was not an activist for black civil rights as much as Marie Curie was not an activist for women civil rights. They just used the gifts that God gave to them.If they were pionners and broke racial and sex barriers it was unintentional.

If Michael Jackson is not an icon, then the word 'icon" needs to be removed from the dictionary.

@MrLamarski First of all, He was the #1 contributer of black colleges. #1 supporter of diseases and aids awareness in Africa. Main supported to poor black inner-ciy families. Protested equality for blacks in the music industry. The list goes on and on. Are you serious?

Listen to his lawyer talk when he was on Leno in 2005 after the verdict. He shared his room with families (which includes parents). The prosecution made up this story that "he sleeps with little boys" to spin a conviction. He said that he "shared his bed" with children, while he slept on the floor. His room, by the way, was the size of a two story duplex. The media crucified him, and many gullible people bought into their lies.

*sigh*
If you didn't see him molest kids yourself or have any actual proof then I suggest you STFU because it makes you look dumber than O Rielly.
