Might be the presets. I have a waldorf Blofeld (similar price range, known for sounding harsh), the presets are bol-x for the type of music I dream of making. Starting of on my synth programming jouney all my stuff (on the blofeld) sounded either weak or shit or both. I took me a year to get into it. I also got a Pulse which definately sounds analogue, the "phat" factor is there by default. Yet if forced to sell one, I would keep the blofeld, the "harshness" allows for finer sculpting.

It sounds ok, but it has a certain "sound" to it that it doesn't seem to be able to get away from. I don't hear many useable sounds, filter sounds harsh, ringy to my ears.
It's not all about "phatness", it's all about character, this lacks character, imho.
