Shot in Webridge, Surrey, UK, which is an apt substitute for Apartheid South Africa. One scene which was supposed to happen in this video involved lots of multi-ethnic kids invading the white family's garden and then frolicking in the pool of privilege. That was until our esteemed producer told us that he hadn't organised said kids, and was popping along to the local comprehensive to borrow some! Of course, this being apartheid on Thames, there were no ethnic kids in the local school!
There is a better version of this with a load of Aki's SOuth African home movie footage cut into it....but I can't find it, so this'll have to do.
The gold blokes in the pool were homeless, jobless big issue sellers. We figured it was good to give them a paying job for the day. They were so good, that we hired them again for a later shoot...which is when they started demanding a winnebago and loads of champagne.
