jobot1: if God exists, is Hell a reasonable assumption.

Granted, if God does not exist, hell does not exist. And in that case, teaching a child about hell to manipulate him into a belief or set of actions is pretty horrible. But, the real question is, d...

I don't know if God exists, but I know the bible
isn't thrusworthy because Noah's flood never happened. Why believe in the rest of the bible when such a fundamental event is a lie ?????

For one reason, the bible was written by different authors over a span of 1,500 years. So clearly an error in one part of the bible doesn't mean the rest of the bible is wrong. Another reason is that you don't know that Noah's flood didn't happen. You just know that some people make the interpretation that Noah's flood covered the entire planet rather than the whole world known by Noah and his people.

How can the atheists delude themselve and believe that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?

It would be hypocrytical of god to send me to hell for what i do, - if god is the creator and knower of all things then he created me knowing exactly what i would turn out to become, and if i turn out to be a serial killing, it would in fact be gods fault.

I try to be partially christian but i am quite sure hell is made up to scare people into submission. I think whatever religion you follow you will go to that heaven no matter what you do, and athiests are reincarnated?

@H3Vtux dude to be christian you mst accept that people who do not trust in Jesus Christ as "their Lord and Saviour" will go to hell. If youre intelligent enough to realize this is false, youre not a christian.

and the guy in the video looks somewhat crazy. Looks like he believes in this God and Hell, and yet realizes how immoral and evil it is. The God of Islam and Christianity is supposed to be righteous and forgiving... contradiction? forget about religion and relax mate

Hi !

Okay...listen up ! If you believe God is
supreme, Almighty and FAIR... just must come to the conclusion that Hell does not exist. Why should God let people torture forever ? nomatter what they have done... it just sounds stupid and evil. Hell is just made up by the church to suppress and scare people so it can stay in power.

thank you, i live in a community that likes to cram alot of scare tactics down my throat and it is good to hear at least one person agree with me.

I used to think maybe god said that hell exists so that we would try to do better in this life, but in the end all sins our forgiven no matter who you follow or what you have done, because in the end, god is partially the one who made you commit those sins.

Storm Trek, I think you would have worked out by now that I am not a religious man! However, please believe me when I say I am not in the business of rubbishing other peoples' beliefs. I think it is a good thing to be aware of what other beople believe and why they believe it - I think it helps us all to get along so much better. I bring my children up to question beliefs, but to always be respectful of opposing beliefs.

Sure, I'm certain there are church leaders who attempt to manipulate their followers by brandishing the doctrine of hell.

I know I have not addressed your question concerning the existance of hell, but your answer would indicate that religious leaders would feel justified in promoting hell's existence as if other people of faith feel the same way as you, it would seem it is indeed a pretty good deterant. So, I'm not really sure it matters if hell exists or not as long as it is perceived to exists. Didn't Martin Luther say it was okay to lie if it was for the greater good of Christianity?
