  • Emily, I have a blind dog that I want to teach "right turn" and "left turn." Do you have any vidoes I can use or can you suggest a method for me. Thank you.

  • @MCyr59 hmm.... I do not have videos on that. But you could teach it many different ways- some people teach it by teaching spin to the right spin to the left then make it shorter, you could teach it by touching the left shoulder and clicking as the dog turns that direction then add a verbal cue instead of the touch, or you could teach it by teaching agility rear crosses? you could also teach your dog "stop" and "back up" :)

  • wow! that was really inspiring! i will try this out. it looks like a really great alternative to fetch (for example if you are at the dog park and forgot your ball) and still a great exercice! thank you so much for your videos!

  • @smortydella yep! actually I do that! I forget a ball or frisbee, and then I send Splash around the trees and the reward is to get to play tug with her leash that I was walking her on (obviously you have to get the tugging on stimulus control so the dog doesnt tug on the leash as you walk!)

  • When I saw this i thought "what a great idea! I should go try it out right now!" Then I remembered the three feet of snow outside :\

  • @pippinagilitydog haha, sorry! :( hmm... perhaps you could invent an new dog sport that involves 3 feet of snow?

  • I think I'll try this game today, seems fun!

  • Would you look at that! I've been doing this with the poles for the football goal when I go to the park. Originally I was doing it to help my dog look ahead because she was too focused on me in agility, but now we just do it for fun :)

  • This is brilliant .. you are so creative..

  • I love that :-) I so exitedto try all that stuff at my dog after my visit here in america.

  • thanks for sharing this video on tree agiltiy, Jake and I practice tree agility and now we can try a NEW game of relay racing!! I'm also going to stock up on lots of frisbee's since the warmer weather is finally coming :)

  • Awesome idea! I will try this with Xiao xiao! :)

  • Hi!This command is equal to or different from when the dog turns around us?

can be used to send the dog to turn , and jump around an obstacle?

    or learn differently?

  • Brilliant!!

  • Another great video, Emily. We have a lot of bad weather here, so we play an indoor version of Find It. I started with an easy retrieve of a toy, but now she will stay while I hide it anywhere in the house--on the floor or on things like a bed or chair. I leave false scent trails by walking in room and not leaving it there and end up throwing it into it's final location so she can't always just follow her nose. In the summer, we play the same game by throwing it in a brush patch.

  • @MCyr59 Thanks so much! I'm going to try the shoulder touch. She knows Easy which slows her down and Stop. I'll add Back up as well. It's a pleasure to watch your videos. I taught my 15 year old chorkie to jump over my arm in about 15 seconds. It was great! I love your videos and your manifesto! Keep 'em coming!!
