1st Lt. Eric Musshorn pilots one of the Air Forces greatest silent defenders the MQ-9 Reaper. The Reaper is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle used for surveillance and reconnaissance missions. (U.S. Air Force video)
@Silentghost45 - and five hours of sleep a night. Only something like 3% of the pilots force gets paid above 100k a year (30 year+ Captains flying widebodies internationally). 150k+ ....wow, stay ignorant, that's fine but don't spew your nonsense on here.
@Silentghost45 - You're joking right? You obviously know nothing about the Air Force or the commercial pilot career field. Although this video makes "The Reaper" look like an awesome assignment. No Air Force pilot wants this job; the majority are forced or "volun-told". Secondly...commercial pilots making $150k+ a year??? Regional commercial pilots make around 20-24k a year starting out. If they are lucky they will get hired by the majors after six years or so of living off ramen...
I'm pretty sure the FAA isn't counting those hours the same way as "regular" flight hours. Unless they change the rules he won't be competitive for a commercial job but he will be top of list to work for civilian gov agencies picking these things up.
This guy has it good, never has to leave his family or go into combat...yet he still gets flight hours under his belt. Those flight hours will later help him land a slot as a commercial pilot - making $150,000+ a year
Why are they wearing an almost $200.00 Nomex flight suit? Your tax dollars at work. From a Fighter Crew Cheif for 22 years.
