From our series entitled, "Why Does God Allow Evil and Suffering?" This clip answers the question: If God created everything, and everything He created was perfect and good, how did evil originate?
Dr. Geisler is teaching DUALISM! That "evil" somehow existed externally, or, independent from God makes God impotent. His view does nothing to reconcile the Biblical doctrine of evil, and the omnipotence and omniscience of God.
As a Calvinist, I highly respect Augustine, but he fell short on the problem of evil.
God is the ultimate cause of all things, including evil. This does NOT, however, make God the author of evil...because of the use of secondary (proximate) causes (ie., "means").
