  • I first fell in love with Liszt when I heard the Faust Symphony on the radio by chance. It was 23 years ago, and the event changed my whole life.

  • @SophieMenter god change my life, don't you!!liszt also but in a different way..

  • @Rednasyl1

Look his father was hungarian. But yes,Liszt Ferenc was born in Austria. But is doesn't mean that he was austrian!! I was born is Romania, actually in Transilvania,i'm living here with my parents, but i'm HUNGARIAN not romanian!!!!!

  • @Rednasyl1 well... that's actually not true...

'Ádám Liszt - (Adamus List) (December 16, 1776 – August 28, 1827) was a Hungarian musician and father of composer and pianist Franz Liszt.

He was born in Nemesvölgy, Kingdom of Hungary.'

I think 'Ádám' and 'Nemesvölgy' is pretty much Hungarian, furthermore he was born in Hungary.

His son - Liszt Ferenc - was also Hungarian.

'Franz Liszt (...) was a 19th-century Hungarian[2][3][4] composer, pianist, conductor, and teacher.'

  • @RonaiHenrik Since Liszt's parents were austrian (father) and german (mother), and german speakers, his "real" name of birth is Franz. It is "hungarished" in Ferenc by nationalism

  • Amazing! Virtuosic pianist and ethereal composer. I say ethereal because there is something otherworldly about his music. XD

  • @PTR131 Let me guess. American? :P

  • ups Liszt;-))

  • Happy Birthday Faust, you will be NEVER old! :-)

  • Great Picture on the Faust subject - looks like it could be by Delacroix, can anyone confirm this.

Got to know this symphony when I was quite young and bought an l.p. with Ernest Ansermet conducting, don't know why it's not performed more often.

  • @RonaiHenrik Or we could just say Franz and not give a fuck about the damn grammar.
