Doug Howlett speaking with Steve Cobb of Hunter's Specialties. Cobb says to always sand your slate left to right and that will give you the friction as you go against the grooves. Hold the rod higher when you sound a purr and lower when you sound a cluck.

i have a serious problem with carbon strikers. is it just me or are they really tuff to get the hang of? i cant figure it out to save my rear end. any tips?
