In January 2010 a devastating earthquake struck the impoverished island nation of Haiti killing nearly 300,000, injuring twice that and making nearly 1,000,000 homeless. This video is a tribute to those who responded in unprecedented ways. Speroway Canada rapidly assembled a team of Halton Paramedics and three Physicians from Southern Ontario. They were deployed to ground zero, General Hospital in Port-au-Prince.

  • This group of medics and physicians volunteered their time. No one received a penny to do this. Medics that were unable to head to Haiti themselves donated their time to cover the shifts of those who went. I am blessed to be part of such a brotherhood.

  • It's always good knowing there are willing and caring hands out there. Unfortunately every service I have worked at would not even consider making or sending a team anywhere unless they were guaranteed money for there involvement. I understand you have to pay wages but in allot of cases donations would cover the cost. Shame money dictates peoples values and morels
