A 6-month-old Eastern Hermann's tortoise baby (named Mina) captured in super macro mode. This was just one day after it woke from its first hibernation period, so it's still quite sleepy and slow.
The video was actually recorded in 640x480 but I cropped and scaled it to 1280x720 as a test to see how it'll look on youtube.
hi! how big will your eastern hermann's tortoise get? also, how much do you think you have spent on him overall? i want to get one but i have an aquatic yellow bellied slider and he has caused a lot of work but i love him:)

@ItsMeGillian They're said to reach lengths up to 28 cm (11 inches), approximately. But it'll take decades until they grow that big, if ever.
I didn't buy any of my young tortoises (I hatched them), but terrarium, lamps, electricity etc. aren't free, of course. No idea how much money I've spent on all that by now, but it was quite a bit.

@THBfriend thank you:) do you know of any other tortoises that dont get much bigger than 10in?

@ItsMeGillian Well, Western Hermann's tortoises (Testudo hermanni hermanni) and Russian tortoises (Testudo horsfieldii) are smaller.
Please do some research on their requirements before you decide to get one. Having a garden is almost a must. Once you've set up a good outdoor enclosure, tortoises aren't the most demanding pets (and probably not the most rewarding either). But getting there takes quite some work. Also, only buy captive bred animals, not wild caught ones, of course.

@Productshizzlez Maybe my big hands make her look small. ;)
She hatched at the beginning of September and this video was recorded in March.
