Another Carolan tune I've arranged for solo guitar. Great tune in praise of a pint or three. I used my Fylde Ariel this time, tuned a semitone low. Sound and vision from digital stills camera - sound not as good as Zoom recordings, but it'll do. Light was a bit low for the camera too. Apologies for it being out of sync again (seems to be par for the course on Youtube, or am I doing something wrong?) and for the occasional dodgy excursion out of first position.

  • very well played, bravo!

  • @gherkin007 Thank you very much - kind of you to comment. The recording quality is not v good though - doesn't really show the guitar for what it is - much richer than it sounds here!

  • @keithchesterton I am learning this piece and know how it should sound, it's easy to look past the recording quality. I play it completely differently (in the same tuning), I'll post a video of it some time.

  • @gherkin007 Looking forward to hearing your version sometime! :-)

  • Is your guitar tuned on dadgad? I'm searching a tab for this tune but I don't find it. Do you have it?

Anyway, great job! I like the kind of sound :)

  • Thanks for your kind comments pallapio. Guitar is in standard tuning intervals a semitone low, ie EADGBE tuned a fret down - EbAbDbGbBbEb. No TAB, sorry, - I made my own arrangement which exists only in my head/fingers and this video! learn the tune so it's in your head. Then work out what bass line you want, then fill in the middle with the rest of the harmony. Best wishes,

    Keith
