Pensacola City Councilman Sam Hall urged to resign Jan. 9, 2012

During the Committee of the Whole Meeting on Jan. 9, 2012, Pensacola City Councilwomen Maren DeWeese and Sherri Myers suggested that President Sam Hall step down as president of the City Council. A number of residents also asked their city council member to bring the chair issue to a vote. The issue came up after 5 hours of meetings after many of the original speakers had left to go to the opening of the Florida Legislature in Tallahassee and Councilmen Larry Johnson and Ron Townsend had left, presumably to watch the Crimson Tide football game. The president of the American Transit Union is expected to continue the call for Mr. Hall's removal at the Thursday Jan. 12 meeting of the City Council.
