Another thing I loved about DS9 was how all the characters grew over the years.Like how Damar when from an evil second in command kiss up to the bad guys into a hero leading the fight against the Founders.

He cured her before she surrendered. And if Section 31 had had their way Odo wouldn't have had the cure and the Dominion would've fought to the last man. Then what would've happened to all the people in the Gamma Quadrant when the Founders all died and the Jem'Hadar ran wild in the Gamma Quadrant? After Odo cured the female Founder she didn't HAVE to order the surrender. She did it because she saw Odo's trust for "solids" in their Link.

But the point is, it wouldn't have been possible at ALL if Section 31 had had their way. Odo went back to the Link not just to cure them but to show them what he learned about living among "solids."

yeah but if it wasn't for section 31 the Dominion would have won the war.
section 31 effectively eliminated the threat of changeling infiltration

Starfleet had safeguards against Changeling infiltration. We didn't hear about any Changelings who were discovered because they were sick. We heard about Cardassian double agents though, and defecting Weyouns.
I have to say, I'm enjoying this debate. :)

Starfleet tests were useless against skilled changelings.
when the changelings started to get sick they started having trouble with their shape shifting and had to abandone their infiltration missions and escape to Cardassian space. most of them probably died since changing shape accelerates the disease. (only the main founder stayed alive because she didn't change shape as often as the others who worked as spies. she was mostly just sitting around in the command center)
