A plane crashes on a desert island and the only survivors, a group of schoolboys, assemble on the beach and wait to be rescued. By day they inhabit a land of bright fantastic birds and dark blue seas, but at night their dreams are haunted by the image of a terrifying beast. As the boys' delicate sense of order fades, so their childish dreams are transformed into something more primitive, and their behavior starts to take on a murderous, savage significance.

it's a good movie if it wasn't called "Lord of the Flies" cause it's a disgrace to the great story. The boys are British, they look different, and it doesn't even end the same. I hate how American producers always do this.

It bugs me so much that they aren't British school boys! The characters are not even close to what they are described as in the book. On top of that, they have the kids cuss a bunch?!? Come on! If you want to see a good version of this movie, watch the 1969 version. I don't usually like black and white films, but that one I really did enjoy.

Ralph is supposed to be the fair-haired boy, and Jack is supposed to be a redhead. They might as well have made Piggy fit.
