Mochi is traditional Japanese confectionery made from glutinous rice. It requires quite laborious process to produce smooth mass.

Nakatanido is a cake shop in Nara offering not only pastry, but also a performance when preparing it.

The green color comes from "yomogi" grass and pastry is served with "anko" sweet bean paste inserted by a machine.

You can visit the shop online at http://www.nakatanidou.jp/ One piece of mochi costs 130 yen and you can buy it almost immediately as it was prepared.

  • It's at this location: "34.681985,135.828921". Google will put a point on the map when you insert this into search field. And their website address is in description below the video. There you will find a map in Japanese, but pretty straightforward.
