  • Just crunching some numbers guys, and you must be eating a lot of meat! Two hit 5000calories daily with 30gcarbs or less. 1kg+ of meat I'm thinking...? Or do simply eat heaps of calories from good quality fats? Curious...?

  • we were having 30 raw eggs 3 ltrs raw milk 500g-1kg of raw beef, lard, tallow & duck fat are another awesome source of calories.

Good quality fats make it easier to get calories up. Hard to maintain for a long period of time as about 3 weeks after dropping of the the calories back to 3-4000 weight comes back down to 90kg.

  • Wow! That's a lot of eggs a day!! I also love my raw eggs, but worry sometimes times about the whole avidin (biotin deficiency) and supposive protein inhibitors present in the white. I'm also finding it hard holding on to the weight when I let my calories drop. Thanks for the reply, I like to use avocados as another good way to pump up my calories from fat :) hope to see more nutrition videos in the future :)

    Cheers, Dale

  • hey,

im currently doing a carb cycle pretty much similar to yours.

but ive read that in order to keep from gaining any fat from your carb load you must keep fat intake as low as possible.

    what do you do?

    thanks.

  • Yummmmm ... if only it was carb day every day. (Okay so that kind of defeats the purpose!)

  • have you guys heard that carbs are not utilized when consumed with high overt fats? food combining!?

  • that's interesting. the ingredients in mine say its pure olive, so yay for me i guess.

  • most sources of olive oil are rancid by the time you get them. Most will also mix canola or other cheaper vegetable oils in which is pro inflammatory. Cant heat it either as it will ruin all the unstable poly and mono fats. We use a source that its from a farm that does all the processing themselves. cold pressed doesnt mean it is safe high amounts of pressure will cause high temperatures and if it is older than 6months since pressing dont put it in your body it will only make unhealthy cells

  • i have, and i have to disagree. olive oil still has incredible amounts of monounsaturated fat, as do raw nuts. as for the fish oil- youre right, you have to be discriminating in your sources, but it isnt that hard to find a good one.

its quite hard to find grass fed beef (or anything, except buffalo thanks to some weird law) around the usa, and while organic veggies and all that is nice- i used to really be on that wagon- i have to say, going back and forth, i dont notice a difference.

  • geeze man you need to read more. Study grass fed beef, unless nuts are correctly prepared they are useless, and olive oil is very tricky to get a good source needs to be extra virgin organic ( not conventional organic). Grass fed beef is the best source for you and the environment. most of the fish oil supplements are rancid and not going to give you the result you want. Non animal sources of omega 3 are not EPA or DHA and unless your pancreas is healthy your going to run into trouble.

  • not exactly- sears acknowledges that about half your fat blocks (i dont even do blocks, i just eyeball, which im pretty damn good at) will come from your protein and be saturated anyway. sat is fine by me. he also says that once youre thin enough and/or active enough, you can bump up the fat a lot.

he doesnt say you NEED omega 3 from fish oil, but the EPA/DHA from it is better than any other source.

its all about omega 3 vs omega 6, so nuts, olive oil, are your best bet outside of fish oil.

  • barry is a bit confused about how the body works, just dont be scared of saturated fat form healthy animals eg grass finished beef best source of omega 3 plus it is stabilized by saturated fat around it. + CLA. Barry seams to think saturated fat is pro inflamatory and that we need fish oil capsules to get omega 3. Keep having fun

  • well, im glad it works for you, ill stick with my zone proportions, that works for me.

  • that is awesome, i wish you lived down the road from me.

  • If you use insulin correctly it is a great muscle builder if you do it excessively e.g every meal it will lead to pancreas depletion and insulin resistance. That is why we do it 1-2 days per week.

  • why not just balance the hormones every meal?

  • 30-100 through out the whole day for the non carb days, carb days do as much as you can handle without crashing somepeople dont need much the more you need though the more its a sign of a worn out system. When your insulin sensitive an increase to 300g carbs will make a huge difference

  • you mean total throughout the day, or post workout? (or both?)

  • we do 5 days 30-100g or carbohydrates then 2 days with more carbs if you use carbohydrate more frequently you end up with insulin resistance and an exhausted pancreas the carbs/ sugar become less effective then you may have to start using exogenous insulin in large amounts to get the same gains not worth it long term. Just depends on your goals and model of health etc.

  • i assume youre talking about sugar and not carbohydrates when you say "cut out all together"

in which case, have you ever tried just having a sugar spike right after a workout? lots of research showing that those ol' bodybuilders with their slick paged magazines are actually on to something with their post workout shakes, for once.

  • I would go easy on it depends how you respond if you feel like there is too much of a caffeine hit, cut back or take out till you feel more balanced. The cacao has many benefits so you need to listen to your body.

I recommend people with fatigue only have it before 1pm start with a smaller amount then increase if they feel stable energy not wired exhausted energy

  • we only have max 1-2 days per week so that we can get the most out of insulin for a short burst in the week without depleting the pancreas. If people are looking to just get leaner and improve health we recommend to cut out all together of just have to enjoy the taste.

  • do you recommend cacao if i am currently in adrenal fatigue?

  • only bad if you do not prepare them correctly soak sprout ferment and if you have too much. some times we did have to gather

  • Not bad, but stay away from that bread. Grains are no good--paleo diet.
