Blossom toes were one of the most amazing english band in '60s, but they never reach the charts and disbanded after only two albums. This one is the first track of their first album, a psychedelic masterpiece called "We are ever so Clean", and this is "look at me I'm you".

Lyrics:
Look at me I'm you, look at me I'm you
Well, well, if it's not another day
Should have known it'd come again
Oh well, I had best be on my way
Down the road in the pouring rain
The air is filled with coal dust
From smokey chimney pots
The rain is making me run and everything I see just seems to rot
Poor old Charlie, your so poorly
Why don't you go back to her
Sweet dreams fill you mind
On the tracks
Look at me I'm you, look at me I'm you
Look at me I'm you, look at me I'm you
Well, well, Charlie working such as I am
Workings all that has stuch with me
Farewell little boy your are a man
Working toffs are smashing at me
My life has dragged along in the
most depressing way
All that seems like rose-brown earth and goes around like empty thoughts today
Poor old Charlie, he was poorly
Oh well, I had best be on my way
Now he has gone
Look at me I'm you, look at me I'm you
Look at me I'm you, look at me I'm you... (Repeat 5 times)

  • @dual506 Do you really think so! Well as you say, each to his or her own. To me, this whole record is insuperable in terms of songwriting, arrangements and production. it's hard to find so many attributes in just one record. Catchy songs, great vocal arrangements, contemporary music elements, great orchestral arrangements and trippy atmospheres. But, well, maybe it's just not your kind of record. It's not easy to achieve. For instance I think Sgt Pepper is not the best Beatle work.

  • I think the point some people are trying to make here about Blossom Toes and The Beatles or other popular 60's bands is why such a superb and fine piece of work like this was neglected that way, if The Beatles, Jimi or whoever made better or worse records, that's just a matter of opinion. The other point is that those popular bands got a lot of success whereas this band remained pratically anonymous and then, if you compare Sgt.Pepper to this, there is no such distance in terms of quality.

  • well well little boy you are a man...

    wow,what a psychedelic delight!

these guys musta had a time machine ..

  • This album deserved to be a hit, shouldn't it? I don't know why they were never taken seriously by their record company, as there is hardly a dud track on the album. All the songs etch themselves on your subconscious mind in a deliciously seductive way. :)

  • @seesselberg Revolver is pure wank save for a couple of songs. Their attempt at psychedelia on that album is just pitiful and messy.

  • Also recommended: Tomorrow - s/t.

  • Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.

  • A great psych album for sure. Personally I'd be more interested in 23rd Turnoff, but each to his or her own.

  • @seesselberg well the pretty things sf sorrow cleans house on all of them- i disagree about sgt peppers- revolver i like better but its nowhere near as pyschedelic as peppers- anyways to each his own- this more pop sike than anything but i do enjoy it none the less!

  • @salvadory I disagree - Sgt. Pepper is about 20 times less psychedelic than Revolver - or even the White Album. July is good but a bit rough around the edges. I'll stick with the Blossoms , thank you very much .
