So I watched Brokeback Mountain the other night. It's sort of a tear-jerker, especially at the end, but overall, I give it like, 3 stars out of 5. It was good, but not that good. Even still, it inspired me to write this poem. (Because I'm really distracted from everything else I'm doing.) This poem has nothing to do with the plot or characters of Brokeback Mountain, in case you were wondering, although there is a resemblance. I don't know. Maybe it is just like Brokeback Mountain. But I will tell you that this poem is about two men that have a relationship together, but one man is unwilling to give up the life that he has with his wife and his family, to go run away with the other man. You can gather the rest of the information while reading the poem. I don't usually write poetry, but hey. Lots of stuff happens when I have insomnia. :) (This is from one single person's point of view, by the way. Joe's actually. He's talking about Nick.)

"I love you," he had said, clasping my hand as if he would never get the chance to touch me again.
"I love you," he had said, even through the kisses that seemed to have no end.
"I love you," he had said, sometimes with desperation.
"I love you," he had said, without hesitation.
"I love you," he had said, despite my doubt.
"I love you," he had said, occasionally with a shout.
"I love you," he had said, through times so trying.
"I love you," he had said, even when he saw through my lying.

"It's okay," he had assured, when I was too shy.
"It's okay," he had assured, when lightning lit up the night sky.
"It's okay," he had assured, with a voice so calm and collected.
"It's okay," he had assured, even when I still pretend I'm not affected.
"It's okay," he had assured, with tears in his eyes.
"It's okay," he had assured, as they appeared in mine.
"It's okay," he had assured, when my feelings were a blur.
"It's okay," he had assured, when I chose her.

"Come back," he had begged, with feelings so frayed.
"Come back," he had begged, when I promised I would stay.
"I still love you," he had claimed, after all the pain I put him through.
"I still love you," he had claimed, even when he found a wife too.
"I miss you," he had whispered, when we passed each other by.
"I miss you," he had whispered, when I told him it was time to say goodbye.
"Goodbye," he had given up, our love too complicated to save.
"Goodbye," I had given up, as I cry by his grave.

"I love you," I never said, when I had the chance.
"I love you," I never said, giving up true romance.
"I love you," I never said, when all I gave was shit.
"I love you," I never said, even though I truly meant it.
"I love you," I never said, crying tears too blue.
"I love you," I never said, even when it was true.
"I love you," I never said, although it was fate.
"I love you," I never said, and now it's too late.

I cried writing this. :/
P.S. I started writing this the night before my account got deleted, and was going to post it, but heh, well, my account got deleted. And when it was back, I forgot about it, until just now, when I finished it.
