At the end of the day its not just the monuments, food and history that make a trip like this so memorable. It's food shared with friends and conversation (in a language you don't understand). It's meeting new friends that quickly feel like family and having those friends show you the best places in their city. Its getting lost in order to somehow get found and in doing so create something much greater than you planned. It's no longer memories for memories sake, its a new color being woven in to the tapestry of life. A new scent, a new flavor, a new warmth.
Reminds me of when i did my study abroad in Florence Jan-May 2008. :-( Everything you've stated in your paragraph above is true and reminds me of the good ole days. :-) thanks for sharing.
