Biden fails to kick start talks

The US vice-president has concluded his visit to the Palestinian city of Ramallah in the West Bank with nothing to show for his efforts to reopen Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

Joe Biden's efforts have been thwarted by Isareli's latest announcement of construction of 1,600 more housing units in Ramat Shlomo, a religious settlement in an area of the occupied West Bank annexed to Jerusalem by Israel.

Biden said the move undermines trust in the peace process.

Biden should return to the US immediately. Israel will need to learn that the US is not ALL deep pockets and that they may have to go it alone with Iran. This action is a slap in the face of America not just Biden.

@Pkr But if that happens, Iran has threatened to strike US naval bases in Qatar and Bahrain. The US military should independently cut a deal with Iran that they will attack Israel in such an event. The top brass of the US military already hates Israel. It was they who urged Obama to crack down on Israel, because its actions are threatening the lives of US soldiers.

Look if Israel, truly wants peace in the region, they will allow the Palestianians to have their state. They are the ones who is prolonging the process, and blaming the Palestinians and Hamas for violence. Heavens sake, an oppressed people will always resort to violence, but you can oppress them for so long, until real problems break out.
