This is my freshwater tank, its 6 foot and about 280 Litres. Its got an external filter with inline UV Clarifier. I run a homemade co2 system that feeds directly into the filter intake for 100% dissolution of the co2. I have 2 Severums, one yellow and one black which are the feature fish. There are also Gourami, Platy's, clown loaches, Angelfish, Golden Catfish and Bristlenose Catfish.

  • Wow Severums gold and green in a planted tank?? how did you manage that?? As soon as I added 2 golds to my tank the ate all my plant to the root even the jave fern. I had a huge nubia's plant atleast a 1/4 inch thick at at the bottom and they nibbetd it to the root and as soon as it try's to grow they just eat it like crazy. Whats up with that??.

  • All you have to do it get the tough plants they dont wanna eat like val and swords etc and you can have the best of both worlds. they might have a little nibble here and there but thats just their nature

  • how do you vacuum the gravel with the plant roots and the little grassy plants and whatnot? what are the best, hardiest plants for my tank? i really need them to be bushy because of the fry. where did you get those rocks from? (btw i 4got i would also like to have swordtails in my tank, i also don't think i mention my molly and platy will be in there to... if your even interested lmao)your tank is very beautiful and i LOVE your aquascaping! it looks amazing and your fish look great!!! =]

  • when your plants are established they are rooted in good, they wont get pulled out by gravel, i kinda just go around them anyway u dont need 2 get every square centimetre particularly around plants as they use up those nutrients.I got the rocks 4 a landscape yard they r just the plainest "bush rocks" they had they are like $100 a tonne so they are cheap. The hardiest plants ive had r the sword plants along with all types of Val but i think they best thing 2 do is see what works 4 u,trial & error.

  • he , i love the look of your tank! within a few months i'm getting a 6'x18"x20" 425 litre tank and hope to have guppies, neons, angels, dwarf gourai, rummynose tetras and black kuhlie loaches. i need lots of hiding places for the neons to hide from the angels and i would really like a natural, planted tank and something like yours would be soooo great! i have a few Q's: i will have a light, but do i HAVE to add CO2 for the plants? see my next post please, i've run out of room =P

  • Hey, you dont have to use CO2 although a home made system is really easy to make. Obviously the more co2 there is in the water the more building blocks the pants have to be happy. The thing that will bush up your plants the most is using the right spectrum lighting do they arent trying to reach for the surface all the time to get light.

  • Some ppl claim that running your CO2 through your filter intake will damage the filter impeller in the long run. How long have you been using this method to diffuse the CO2? Has it affected your filter in anyway?

  • hi..how u made ur home made co2 system???

  • nice setup, good to see a tank with correct amount of fish in it, keep like that and they will thrive for years to come, nice one

  • plonk a badger in there that would make it look even better

  • Teu aquário está lindooo!

    Adorei!

    =)

  • The tank looks good, I like how it's spread out and roomy.

  • Excellent tank! Love it, really beautiful with great fish,

  • thanks for all your help! your fish look great by the way, very happy, and the guppies look particularly happy with all that space!
