I don't accept that teens are under more pressure than then ever before. Try living a couple hundred years ago, when you left school to work for 14 hours a day, or when smallpox or tuberculosis suddenly killed you or your sister, brother, parent or friend. THAT is stress. The family should teaching these things. What if a kid unfairly accuses someone of abuse just to get revenge? If we keep letting the state pry, we'll lose the independence and toughness of our American forefathers.

How does dying from TB compare with treating others with respect? No amount of toughness saves you from disease. You are comparing apples to oranges here. We need to teach our children to have compassion and not be the cause of someone's stress. You are correct that families should teach this, but not all do. It is left to me and my colleagues to give kids a shot at a life without unnecessary burdens. There are plenty of unavoidable ones for them to be "tough" for. Don't be so bitter.

This needs to be instilled in all schools across America.

It may not change the whole school, but if it can decrease bullying just even a little bit.

Then I can support this.

@fnd237 Okay I totally agree with you, those are really good reasons for people to have stress.But isn't funny, we still have teens killing them self? oh but im pretty sure there wasn't a good enough reason, right? thats pretty much what you're saying.There are kidd who go home to there moms&dads beating each other upp or using drugs.& kids who are kids who are picked on because of their sexuality! but there aren't deadly diseases so everyone should just suck it up! right? haha pathetic!

freedom highschool is one of the three choices of schools i got so... its so crazy how i live right next to this school and didnt know how bad bullying is getting

my school just did challenge day today. and i think it should be required that every student needs to do challenge day. everybody has bullied everyone and everyone has been bullied. there are so many people that live horrible lives and you think what goes on outside of school is the same as any average teenager. youd be amazed how many people live a hard life....even your best friend could be hiding things from. it really makes you think. how do you think those people feel now that they talked?
