King of the Lake European wakesurfing Cup 2011 Video

This year, the French Wakesurfing Association and Talloires Lac d'Annecy are once again organizing the "King of the Lake Wakesurf Contest".

Organized by and for lovers of wakesurfing, the King of the Lake is the largest wakesurfing competition in Europe and competitors come from all around the world (USA, Russia, Switzerland, England, Netherland, Germany, Canada, ...) to take part. Set in the idyllic French Alps on the beautiful Lake Annecy, the contest takes place on September 3rd and 4th 2011 at Angon beach in Talloires.

The sport of wakesurfing is based on the same feeling as its big brother, surfing. However, the main difference is that the wave is created by a boat instead of naturally. Wakesurfing also has the freestyle discipline where you use the wave to do tricks that come from a variety of board sports such as skateboarding, skimboarding and surfing. The felling is very similar to surfing on the ocean; no ties, no rope and guaranteed thrills.
